Enzian’s Book and Film Discussion

Enzian’s Book and Film Discussion – May 27th from 11am-1:30pm Enzian Theater showing Forrest Gump followed by book discussion with Rollins College Associate Professor.

Enzian's Book and Film Discussion

Enzian Theater presents the film Forrest Gump which is followed by a book and film discussion led by Dr. Paul Reich, Associate Professor and English Department Chair, Rollins College.

Dr. Reich specializes in 19th and 20th century American literature and coordinates the American Studies Program at Rollins. He often incorporates cinema into his courses, and also teaches a winter session course on the films of Christopher Nolan. In his administrative roles at Rollins, Dr. Reich has coordinated the English major in the Hamilton Holt School.

About the movie: Slow-witted Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks) has never thought of himself as disadvantaged, and thanks to his supportive mother (Sally Field), he leads anything but a restricted life. Whether dominating on the gridiron as a college football star, fighting in Vietnam or captaining a shrimp boat, Forrest inspires people with his childlike optimism. But one person Forrest cares about most may be the most difficult to save — his childhood love, the sweet but troubled Jenny (Robin Wright).

Tickets are $8 for general admission (adults/students/seniors), and $7.50 for members of Enzian Theater.
