Altamonte Springs Earth Day 2018 – On April 22, 2018 from 10 AM to 2 PM, enjoy an Earth Day Celebration at Lake Lotus Park in Altamonte Springs. It’s a free family event.
The City of Altamonte Springs invites you to celebrate the beauty of planet Earth at Lake Lotus Park, the City’s 150-acre nature preserve dedicated to protecting our wildlife and ecological systems. Event activities include:
Live Music & Guest Speakers
Nature Exhibits & Park Tours
Crafts, Activities & Prizes
Plant & Tree Giveaways
Butterfly Gardening & Release
Live Bat Exhibition
Mineral & Gem Sluicing
Promotional & Food Vendors
Each walk is limited to 25 participants. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the park ranger information booth. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and be prepared to walk up to one mile.
- Gator Walk | 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.
Walk along the Little Wekiva River to the fishing pier to learn about the American alligator’s history, unique characteristics and place in the food cycle. You’ll get to meet a live alligator and search for them in the wild.
- Survivalist Walk | 12 p.m.
A hands-on demonstration of survival techniques using items found in the wilderness.
Admission is FREE. No glass, coolers or pets.
