Central Florida Spring Break Guide – If you’re like me, you’re looking for things to do over Spring Break with your kids and/or family and sometimes need some help with ideas. If you’re planning a stay-cation with your kiddos, here are some ideas that might help you find things to do to make fun family memories.

Whether you’re looking for something at the theme parks, free and cheap, something with animals and more, we’ve worked to give you ideas on how to turn the kid capital of the world into your playground for Spring Break 2023.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun:

Paint the Cloud Green: We are very excited to announce our Paint the Cloud Green St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Annual St. Paddy’s Day Truck Pull and Street Festival: Join us in beautiful Historic Downtown Sanford for the Annual St Paddy’s Day Truck Pull & Street Festival! Event takes place in the ‘Famous L’ between Celery City Craft and West End Trading Company!

Shamrocks and Shenanigans in DeLand: City of DeLand, Parks & Recreations Dept. presents SHAMROCKS & SHENANIGANS 2023!! Please join us on THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 5PM-8PM for some good ‘ole CELTIC FUN!  Food, fun and live music and don’t forget our ANNUAL CORNED BEEF COOK-OFF!!

Oviedo St. Patrick’s Festival in the Park: Everyone’s a little Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! Head out to our two-day event at Center Lake Park at OOTP for some great Irish fun! There will be green beer. That’s right! GREEN BEER. Live Irish entertainment, bangers and mash, Irish Step Dancers, face painting, jugglers, a photo booth and so much more! The shenanigans are Friday, March 17 – from 5pm to 9pm and Saturday, March 18 – from 4pm to 10pm. Punchcards for beer can be purchased on Eventbrite.com.

St. Patrick’s Day at Boxi Park: Let’s get green at Boxi Park with food specials, authentic dancers and the Mt. Dora Marching Band. $5 Cover after 5pm

Free and Cheap:

Enjoy a State Park. Check out a State Park in our area and have some outdoor fun hiking, camping, checking out the manatees and more! Go canoe or kayak for some back to nature fun! Some of our favorites are Wekiva Springs and Blue Springs State Park! More…

Parks and Playgrounds. Head out to a park or playground where the kids can be kids in some fantastic parks in our area. If it gets too hot, head to a fun indoor playground! Check out some of our Family Video Reviews!

Beach. We have some great beaches in Cocoa, Daytona, New Smyrna or on the west coast with Clearwater Beach!

Disney Springs. With shops, entertainment, and more, the family can enjoy some outdoor time walking around and soaking up some sun. My Central Florida Family loves to hop on the free boat rides across the lake!

Daytona Beach Pier: featuring thrill rides, amusements, gift shops, snack bars, restaurants and a classic arcade, this is a family favorite!

U-Pick Strawberries. Take the kids for some strawberry picking in several places throughout Central Florida!

Take to the Trails! From Seminole CountyOrange CountyLake County, and Volusia County, you can take a free journey through the trails of Central Florida.

Splash Pads. Some of the area’s splash pads open for spring break and others open later in the year, but head to a splash pad for some outdoor fun!

Outdoor Movies. You can watch movies in the great outdoors throughout Central Florida. Click here for our list!

Disney’s Boardwalk. Enjoy an evening at the Boardwalk at Disney Resorts. It’s timeless charm with a quarter-mile promenade of dining, unique shops, and exciting nightlife. You can even catch a free boat ride and the Epcot fireworks!

Check Out the Animals:

Zoos. Head to one of the zoos to check out animals from all over the world. My Central Florida Family loves Zoo Tampa, the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, and the Central Florida Zoo right here in Sanford. Here are more places to find animals near Central Florida.

Attractions. Enjoy some time with the gators at Gatorland. Check out Wild Florida for a new experience!

Ideas at Home:

Spring Cleaning. Work the kids to help clean out closets, clean rooms, and tidy up the house!

Camp Out. Camp out in the backyard and enjoy the sounds of the outdoors.

Movie Day. Catch up on or re-watch some our your favorite family movies. Put out pillows and sleeping bags!

Plant some flowers. Head to your local nursery and get some flowers to plant in the yard! Or, better yet, start a garden!

Easter Cards. If you celebrate, make and send some hand-made Easter cards.
