Dr. Phillips High School Guys and Dolls

Dr. Phillips High School Guys and Dolls – February 15-18, 2018, enjoy Guys and Dolls at Dr. Phillips High School Theater located at 6500 Turkey Lake Road in Orlando.

The Tony Award winning Best Musical, Guys and Dolls, takes the Dr. Phillips stage February 15th through the 18th. With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls is filled with gangsters, gamblers and a collection of unusual characters. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at tinyurl.com/dphs4276

The creative team of Director Jason Whitehead and Choreographers Spencer Morrow and Dana Miller introduce a compelling cast that erupts with high powered dances and a weirdly wacky story. As gambler, Nathan Detroit, desperately attempts to fund his floating crap game, he must also balance his longtime performing fiance, Adelaide. Meanwhile, fellow risk-taking gambler    – Sky Masterson- attempts to woo the straight-shooting mission doll -Sarah Brown- on account of an impromptu bet. With the cops on their trail, Nathan and Sky must secure the dolls and stay sane all while playing the game.

“Guys and Dolls was a piece I was unfamiliar with until I had the chance to perform it during college. It was a piece that I quickly fell in love with, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce it to a new generation. It’s exciting to watch them enjoy and discover a musical that is now 68 years old.  It is also a sort of homecoming of sorts. It’s a joy to work with two wonderful colleagues and revisit this show we all performed in together during our time at UCF.” Whitehead commented.

The very first time the Dr. Phillips Theatre Magnet produced Guys and Dolls was in 1994 with a number of unsuspecting stars! Luis Fonsi, the singer of the smash song “Despacito,” played Benny Southstreet- one of Nathan’s comrades. Joey Fatone, one of the members of the hit boy band- NSync- was also a crapshooter in this production. General Cartwright was played by Susan Vargo who is now the producer of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical. This cast, like the one this February, was bound for success and you can be a part of the magic if you buy your tickets now.

Dr. Phillips High School’s Guys and Dolls is sure to be a crowd pleaser, for the whole family, February 15th through the 18th. For additional information visit www.tinyurl.com/dphs4276. You can also visit the Dr. Phillips High School Theatre Facebook page or _Troupe 4276 on Twitter.
