OCPS Mobile Lunch Grab-n-Go at Libraries

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until 07/30/2021
From June 1 to July 30, 2021, Monday – Friday (no meals will be served on Monday, July 5), several library branches, including the South Creek Branch right here in Hunter’s Creek, will serve as sites for grab-n-go meals. To accommodate social distancing recommendations, meals have been premade and can be taken home. Each child and young adult will receive one (1) lunch meal at the same time each day.
The following library branches will host the mobile food trucks:
- Chickasaw Branch: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Fairview Shores Branch: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Hiawassee Branch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- South Creek Branch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- North Orange Branch: 12:45 – 1:45 p.m.
- South Trail Branch: 1 – 2 p.m.
The Summer BreakSpot Program, also known as the Summer Food Service Program, is federally funded under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and, in Florida, administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Sites are locally operated by nonprofit organizations that provide the meals and receive a reimbursement from USDA.
These meals will be provided at no cost and no application is necessary. We ask that meals are not consumed at branches due to social distancing and health recommendations. All sites will be following health and safety recommendations to minimize exposure for everyone preparing, serving and receiving meals.
