Florida PrePaid Open Enrollment for Affordable College Savings – My son is 20 years old and we enrolled him in Florida Prepaid when he was just a baby. We paid less than a car payment, even when we were living on a tight budget. We were set up for automatic withdrawals, so over time, we forgot the payment even existed. When he entered high school, we were confident because we knew college was already paid for. When he graduated high school, he enjoyed a full Bright Futures scholarship and his entire college was paid for! What were we going to do with his Florida Prepaid? Well, we cashed it out! Now that my son has graduated UCF, he immediately went into graduate school. Since Bright Futures scholarship didn’t pay for graduate school, he is now using his money that we saved from Florida Prepaid and he’s using it to pay for graduate school.
