The Great Duck Derby 2018 – Family activities and fun at the Great Duck Derby on March 10th from 10am to 2pm at Mead Garden, 1300 S. Denning Drive, Winter Park.

The Great Duck Derby 2018The Great Duck Derby 2018 – coming back to Mead Garden on March 10th. “The Great Duck Derby” is a family fun day at Mead Garden, featuring the famous little rubber duck races and tons of kid-friendly activities.

Gates open at 9:30am with duck adoption and activities beginning at 10am.

The first race is at 11 a.m., followed by a little rubber duck race at 11:15 a.m., then silly song sing-a-long with Mr. Harley at 11:45 a.m. and two more little rubber duck races between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.  Prizes for the top three in each race.

DUCK DERBY FAMILY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

  • Mr. Richard Sing-Along
  • Duckoration Station  (paint your little rubber racing duck)
  • Silly Song Sing-Along with Mr. Harley
  • Nature Hikes and Scavenger Hunts
  • Face Painting
  • Magic Beans
  • Games and Crafts
  • Bounce House
  • Animal Encounters
  • Fire Truck exploration
  • and the Duck Races!

Bring your picnic blankets, take a hike along the creek, and enjoy the great outdoors. Food, drinks and sweet treats, as well as Duck Derby t-shirts and whistles will be available for purchase.

The Ducks love a light rain so they race rain or shine!

Thanks to the the flock of Duck Derby sponsors, it’s just $5 to adopt a race duck and all other activities are FREE!

Parking in the Garden is limited.  Overflow parking lot at corner of Orange Ave. and Denning. Complimentary shuttle generously provided by Park, Bark & Fly.   Pack a picnic or grab lunch, hot dog or a sweet treat from food trucks, including Jeremiah’s.  Enter drawing to win free week at Mead’s Young Naturalist Summer Camp. All proceeds benefit children’s nature education programs at Mead.

Activities include:
Duckoration station where kids get their race ducks ready, baby chick and bunny animal encounter, nature hikes and scavenger hunts, bounce houses, silly song sing-along with Mr. Harley, the Winter Park Fire Department’s big red engine, crafts and games, and more!  Free tree give away by the Winter Park Urban Forestry department.

Food, drinks and sweet treats, as well as Duck Derby t-shirts and whistles will be available for purchase.
