Ma5kot Games Virtual Run 2022 – New Hope for Kids is pleased to announce the return of the Mascot Games Virtual 5K Fun Run.

What:
Today is the annual National Mascot Day, which makes it the perfect day to announce this event! We’re flipping the script again this year and instead of having fans cheer for Mascots at the Mascot Games, the Mascots are cheering for you on your virtual 5K adventure! A new door has opened to a modern approach for fan engagement and interaction, the Mascot Games Virtual 5K Fun Run!
With the live Mascot Games paused until 2023, this year’s 5K Fun Run will allow fans to choose any day between July 16-23, 2022, to strap on their walking or running shoes, gather friends, family and co-workers, and follow the routes they create in their communities to show their Mascot spirit.
New Hope for Kids is exploring this contemporary event to keep fans engaged in a fun way. The goals of the virtual 5K Fun Run are multi-faceted and designed to get fans moving while staying safe and healthy as summertime approaches. Professional and Collegiate Mascots have created training videos and Spotify playlists to inspire the participants to prepare to laugh out loud. All items are listed on the mascotgames.org website.
There are also several sponsors (Truly Nolen, Wawa, Orlando Magic, Orlando Utilities Commission, Advent Health, Vitas, New York Life, Pepsi, Pizza Hut, and Panera Bread) that have been involved with the Mascot Games for several years and the virtual 5K Fun Run allows New Hope to continue these relationships, while providing our sponsors valuable exposure in the virtual world.
The Mascot Games Virtual 5K Fun Run will allow fans of the Mascots from around the country (and Canada) to register, walk or run, and earn their finish line medals in their own neighborhoods with friends and family. Walkers and runners can share their participation by posting pictures on social media and/or via email directly with New Hope for Kids.

ABOUT NEW HOPE FOR KIDS
Celebrating its 26th anniversary, New Hope for Kids continues to be a much-needed resource for the Central Florida community. Their purpose is to bring hope, healing and happiness to children and families suffering from grief, loss, or life-threatening illnesses. Services are provided at no cost to families.
New Hope for Kids achieves this through two programs:
- “The Center for Grieving Children” helps children ages 3-18 and their families cope with feelings of grief and loss after the death of a loved one.
- “Wishes for Kids” grants wishes to children up to the age 19 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
