Orange County Summer Reading 2019 – Create your best summer ever by taking part in the Orange County Library System’s Summer Reading Program, A Universe of Stories. This year’s space-themed program features live performances from freestyle rappers Free DAPS, a concert by Koo Koo Kanga Roo, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, storytelling, camps, art programs and more.

Orange County Summer Reading 2019

What:

Children can participate in STEAM learning with our preschool series Build My Universe, elementary-aged children can learn to code and harness solar power or create their very own video games. Teens and Tweens can explore the universe of art, business, sewing, music production and much more in our educational programs and clubs. During the summer, many children experience what is known as the “summer slide,” or summer learning loss, if they don’t participate in educational activities during summer break. The library offers many programs that contribute to maintaining and developing their retentive ability, along with skills in areas such as reading and problem solving, which set kids up for success when they return to school in the fall.
