Rooterville Animal Sanctuary-Make Friends with Farm Animals!
Rooterville Animal Sanctuary is on 20 beautiful acres with ponds, a bee hive, butterfly garden and everyone's favorites: ANIMALS! Friendly pigs, cows, chickens, turkeys, a goat, a horse and dogs and cats provide fun and educational experiences for the kids to enjoy. Take a tour on our trolley train to see where the piggies live, watch for native wildlife like Bald Eagles, Owls, Woodpeckers and all sorts of wild birds. Get your picture taken next to Tinsel the biggest steer this side of the Mississippi! Visit the butterfly garden and look for caterpillars and enjoy the jewels of the air. Get a picture with our sunflower garden. Look into the beehive and see the bees at work, watch for the queen. After spending time with all of the animals, enjoy our fun playground.
Take home a Roo-venir from our beautiful gift shop with a kid's area! Buy your favorite butterfly plants to attract bees and butterflies at home. We have a vending machine with snacks and cold drinks and a water fountain with cold, freshwater. We have a tea/coffee pot if that's your preference. You'll find our restrooms to be first class, no portolets here!
It's a trip well worth making. If you want to stay the night, we have amazing REAL covered wagons complete with a private restroom and shower. The wagons are luxurious in every detail from the linens to the beds to the toasters. You'll only need to bring your clothing, we'll provide everything else! It will be an experience you'll treasure. We're not too far away from Orlando, its a great day trip or come for the night or weekend and explore the Melrose/Keystone Heights area, there's lots to do here for the nature lovers. High Springs is a short drive if you'd like to tube down the Ichetucknee River. Or just hang out and enjoy the peace and beauty of the sanctuary and our friendly, happy animals.
We offer birthday parties, parties and events too! You can throw the best party ever in our beautiful tent. We can arrange a bounce house, snow cone vendor or catering/decorations at an additional cost. Prices start at only $185 for up to 10 guests for 2 hours + 1 hour pre/cleanup time. It will be the best time ever with our amazing animals and beautiful grounds. Its a little drive but we're sure you'll find it worth it!
Tent campers are welcome too or bring your own RV, we love visitors and can't wait to meet you and hear what you think about your experience at the best animal sanctuary in the country.
