Paleontology Month at Orlando Science Center

What:

Embark on a guided Dino Safar in DinoDigs! From Megalodon to mosasaurs, learn about prehistoric sea monsters, meet gentle giants like the Triceratops and the Edmontosaurus, and of course, the Lizard King himself, Stan the Tyrannosaurus rex.

If you really dig archaeology, grab a trowel and a brush and head over to the dig pit in Jurassic Ridge dig pit and step into the role of paleontologist. See what fossils you can discover or (literally) step into the past with an interactive Augmented Reality screen to walk among the dinos.

Stomp over to KidsTown for Discovering Dinosaurs StoryTime or Cretaceous Creations Tinker Time. Get ready to travel back in time as we learn all about dinos, what a paleontologist is, read a roaring good story, and put our fine motor skills to the test as we create our own dinosaur bones out of play-doh!

Where and When:

Help us conclude Paleontology Month with a Paleontology Party on August 28-29 at Orlando Science Center!

More Details:

Drop in and explore dinosaurs from the inside out with the new Poozeum display adjacent to DinoDigs! The Poozeum is a collection of some of the largest coprolites, or fossilized feces, ever found and it’s so much more than a crappy complement to our existing Florida fossil displays.

Help us conclude Paleontology Month with a Paleontology Party on August 28-29! We’ll celebrate the history of American Paleontology and embrace the excitement of the Great Dinosaur Rush! We’ll learn that the Old West wasn’t all about mining for gold and how some scientists spent their lives searching for undiscovered dinosaur fossils in the American frontier.  Whether you’re wild about nature, crazy for chemistry, or a Maker in the making, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Orlando Science Center!

Experience brand-new exhibits, explosive live programming, special event weekends and more!
