Planetarium’s Spooky Star Party – Emil Buehler Planetarium hosts the inaugural Spooky Star Party, October 21 from 6-9:30 at Seminole State College, 100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford.

Planetarium's Spooky Star PartyThe Planetarium is very proud to host the inaugural “Spooky Star Party!” on Saturday, October 21 from 6-9:30 p.m.

Join them for an evening of celestial observation, tales from the night sky, science demonstrations, and of course…candy! They encourage everyone to dress up in their Halloween best, and they’ll hold their famous children’s costume contest as well!

Like at all planetarium star parties, admission to the event is completely free! All activities, including the “Into The West” planetarium presentation in the star party, are included. For more information, visit their Facebook page by clicking here.

There will be plenty of space in the star party area for visitors to bring chairs and blankets. The event will take place in the faculty and staff parking lot adjacent to building B and the planetarium, just off College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. Visitors may park in the lots in front of buildings B and D. All site information can be found in the pinned post in the “Discussion” section.

— 6-9:30 p.m.: Telescopes in the star party area. Each telescope will have candy      available for our visitors, so make sure to visit each one!
— 6:30-7 p.m.: Chemistry Demonstrations by Prof. Potialchem.
— 8-8:30 p.m.: Children’s Costume Contest (ages 12 and under)

— 8:30-9:15 p.m.: “Into The West” planetarium presentation, in the star party area.
