Sea Life Dive Talks
Sea Life Dive Talks – SEA LIFE ORLANDO TO HOST GUEST DIVE TALKS WITH ORANGE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE ON APRIL 7, 2018. Held at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the underwater dive shows will help kick off a month-long promotion.
SEA LIFE Orlando is making a splash for First Responders. On April 7, the immersive aquarium will host two special Dive Talks with guest speakers from Orange County Fire Rescue’s Dive Team (OCFR). Members of the team will slip into their official gear, strap on a waterproof microphone and get into the Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean habitats alongside some of the thousands of species of fish and sea creatures inside the aquarium. The interactive underwater shows are included with the price of regular admission to the attraction and will allow guests to get up close and personal with local heroes and learn more about what they do for the community.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this event,” said Orange County Fire Chief Otto Drozd III. “Orange County Fire Rescue holds a critical and life-saving mission in this community, but opportunities like this help us to inspire future generations of firefighters. While many are familiar with our fire rescue response efforts, there are so many ways in which we respond with help when people need us most. It’s great to be a part of an initiative that connects us with our community, while also thanks first responders.”
Launched in 2017, the OCFR Dive Team has quickly grown to the largest dive team in the state with nearly 150 members. The team’s dive talks at SEA LIFE Orlando are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in the Indian Ocean and 3:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the dive talks, OCFR’s fire rescue truck will be on site from 12 to 5 p.m. for families to do a meet-and-greet with first responders and take photos with the team.
The special event is part of a monthlong celebration of First Responders at I-Drive 360. SEA LIFE Orlando, Madame Tussauds Orlando and the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, are offering free admission to first responders all month and 25-percent off regular admission for up to four of their family members or friends.
“Our first responders play such a vital role in keeping Central Florida safe,” said James Paulding, General Manager of Merlin Entertainments. “We are indebted to them for their service to the community and are honored to be able to host them at our attractions.”
