Seminole County Library Reopens May 12, 2020. – Seminole County Library will reopen the North, Northwest, West and East branches beginning tomorrow, May 12, 2020. The Jean Rhein Central Branch remains closed until further notice.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The Seminole County East, West, North, and Northwest branches will be open with the modified hours:
• Monday-Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
• Friday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
CAPACITY & SOCIAL DISTANCING
Library branches will be managed with a maximum capacity of 25% inside the building, and entrances will be monitored by Library staff to ensure occupancy levels. Seminole County completed installation of Plexiglass shields at customer service areas, hand sanitizing stations, and floor markers to ensure the safety of patrons and employees.
Seminole County will provide curbside service for customers by appointment. To utilize curbside service, customers should call their library branch to determine availability of materials and arrange a pick up time. Curbside service will be available at all five branches, including Central Branch.
USE OF PUBLIC COMPUTERS
Use of public computers at Seminole County Library will be available by appointment only. Appointments can be made for day-of use, with up to one hour of access per day. Computer access appointments are available for Seminole County Library cardholders only. Customers should call their branch to make an appointment. Stations will be sanitized after each use.
HOMEBOUND BOOK PROGRAM
Seminole County Library’s Homebound Book program resumes tomorrow, except for customers in assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities and nursing homes. This borrow-by-mail program is available to customers with a doctor’s note indicating they cannot physically visit the library, or for customers age 80+. CHILDREN MUST BE ATTENDED
Libraries are not drop-off points for children; all children should be attended while visiting the Seminole County Library. Signs will be posted throughout the buildings to remind customers that children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Visit SeminoleLibrary.org to access online resources including eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and learning databases. Residents may also register for a library card on the site.
