Summer of Dreams 2018
Summer of Dreams 2018 – Central Florida restaurants raise funds to help homeless students! Click here for a list of restaurants that you can enjoy while helping homeless kids in Central Florida.
The Orlando After-School All-Stars invites the community to dine at local restaurants throughout June 8 through July 31, 2018 to help raise funds during the “Round Up For Kids” fundraiser. All proceeds benefit Summer of Dreams, which supports homeless youth in Central Florida with meals, academic enrichment, tutoring, mentoring, and a backpack filled with school supplies for the fall. Last year, the Summer of Dreams program served 1,151 homeless students in Central Florida.
The annual “Round Up For Kids” fundraising initiative encourages all residents, visitors and guests across Central Florida to dine at the participating restaurants listed here: http://orlandoasas.org/round-up-for-kids/. When patrons arrive, let your servers know that you want to support the Summer of Dreams program by rounding up your check to the nearest dollar amount. Guests may also choose to donate a specific amount directly to the cause.
“Summer of Dreams provides a safe and positive experience for children who may otherwise slip through the cracks while school is out. They lose the benefits of federal programs, such as free or reduced school lunch. Round Up For Kids provides a significant opportunity for the community to make a difference in the lives of these kids,” said Star Hudspath, External Affairs Director of After-School All-Stars Orlando.
