YMCA Masters Meet and Diving Championship

YMCA Masters Meet and Diving Championship

YMCA Masters Meet and Diving Championship – The YMCA Masters Meet and Diving Championship are this week in Orlando. The competitions were last held in 2019 (pandemic) and 400 athletes (kids and adults) are participating this year. The Masters Meet is an inclusive event for adult swimmers who are Y members – events are offered by age group and swimmers do not need a competitive swimming background to participate, as there are no time standards for entry (weekend warrior alert!). The Diving Championship features 1 meter, 3 meter and platform events for boys and girls aged 12-18, divided by age group. You’ll have 45 Ys from across the country represented.

YMCA Masters Meet and Diving Championship

What:

These events, which will draw from 45 Ys around the country, last took place in 2019 in Orlando (Masters) and Coral Springs (Diving) with over 400 Masters and 150 Diving athletes. YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) cancelled the 2020 and 2021 national championships due to Covid. Per YMCA of the USA policy, the meets will follow health and safety protocols of the host venue.

The events represent the Y’s deep commitment to healthy living, youth development, and the well-being of adults and kids alike. Each year, millions of kids participate in Y youth sports like swimming, diving and gymnastics, with more than 7,000 competing at the championship level. The Y’s Short Course Championship drew over 1,200 swimmers last week in Greensboro, NC.
