Eatonville Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation
Day, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and is an important occasion for our community to come together to celebrate freedom.

Our Juneteenth celebrations will take place on June 14-19th, 2024 in the Historic Town of Eatonville FL. Our theme this year is “Empowering Resilience, Celebrating Freedom, and Reclaiming our Unity”. Events will feature a Youth STEAM explosion, senior citizen celebration, vendors, entertainment, Father’s Day specials and so much more. This weekend will provide an opportunity for members of our community to learn about the significance of Juneteenth and celebrate the achievements and contributions of African Americans throughout history.

Youth Day at Denton Johnson Center 12:00pm

June 14th Come out and join us as we kick off 1887 Juneteenth Celebration Week with a community event just for our youth! Bring your skates, scooters and bikes for some fun at our outdoor skating rink at the Scoot, Ride, and Skate Jam

Juneteenth Festival at Hungerford Field at 12pm

June 15th  come out and enjoy live music, delicious food, and exciting activities for the whole family. Learn about the significance of Juneteenth and its importance in American history.

Father’s Day at Francis Jerry Park-Catalina at 8am

June 16th We’re excited to have you join us for “Fishing with Father’s” on Sunday morning! This event will be a time to enjoy and honor the fathers in our community with good music, good food, and plenty of fishing. Bring your lawn chairs, your coolers and your family, and we’ve got the rest!

Senior Citizen’s Day: The Power of Flowers at Eatonville Town Hall at 10am

June 17th Show your love to our wise citizens and give them their flowers while they can still appreciate them. Be sure to register the wise citizens you would like to recognize with a gift of flowers and expression of love.

A Journey Towards Freedom – at Eatonville Library (Virtual) at 11:30am

June 18th Join us for our Juneteenth Celebration virtual event, as we embark on a journey through reflections of Juneteenth and its connection to the “Town That Freedom Built”. You will hear from National Historians, natives and descendants of Eatonville FL.

Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration – at Eatonville Town Hall at 6:30pm

June 19th Get ready to celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day in Eatonville, FL! We are thrilled to invite you to our Proclamation Observance at the town hall, where we will honor this historic occasion and the oldest Black Township Municipality in the US. Let’s come together with excitement and joy to commemorate this important day in our nation’s history!
