End of Summer Celebration Library

End of Summer Celebration

Saturday, July 29 at 2 p.m.

After completing this year’s reading challenge, the library wants to invite you to party at one of our End of Summer Celebrations hosted at all library locations. Enjoy live music and a grand prize drawing for ages 0-18. Please visit your local branch and ask a staff member to register you for this event.

Log reading minutes this summer to receive a goodie bag full of fun surprises! Beginning July 15, once participants have completed five hours of reading, they can come to any branch and pick up a goodie bag (while supplies last).

Here’s what to do:

  • Beanstack: Participants will receive an email once they have logged five reading hours (300 minutes.) Present the email to library staff at any location to get your goodie bag.
  • Reading Tracker: Once participants have marked off five reading hours on their paper tracker, bring it to any library branch and staff will give you a goodie bag.
  • Sponsored by Window World of Central Florida

Does your child or teen want a chance to win an amazing prize? Then encourage your child to complete the Summer Reading Challenge! Encourage youth to read 20 minutes a day and log at least 10 hours by July 29 at 1 p.m. to be entered into the prize drawing for each age group. Exciting prizes include Nintendo Switch Lites, scooters, iPads, tablets, art sets, science kits, LEGO sets, gift cards and more!

    • Beanstack users: all reading minutes must be logged by July 29 by 1 p.m. Once completed, the reader may visit their local branch and ask a library staff member to register the reader for the End of Summer Celebration. Minutes logged after this date will not be counted toward prize-winning eligibility. And don’t forget to make sure the reader’s library card is linked to their Beanstack account.
    • Reading tracker users: the tracker must be fully filled out and turned in by July 29 by 1 p.m. for entry into the grand prize drawing. No reading trackers will be accepted after July 29 at 1 p.m. You are welcome to submit your paper reading tracker earlier than July 29.
    • Participants are eligible to win up to one grand prize by EITHER a) attending one of the in-person End of Summer Celebrations taking place on July 29 for ages 0-18, OR b) by a virtual raffle held on August 5. Early learners (ages 0-5), kids (6-12), and teens (ages 13-18) winners will only be eligible for virtual drawings for their respective age groups.
    • Only participants ages 0-18 are eligible to enter the Grand Prize Giveaway. 18-year-olds must choose to participate in either the Youth Summer Reading Challenge or the Adult Summer Reading Challenge. An Orange County library card in good standing is required to win – including property owner and fee cards. One entry per person. Reciprocal borrowers, OCLS staff, or members of their household, including board members, are ineligible. Participants can win one prize each.
    • Participants that do not win a prize at the in-person End of Summer Celebration will be eligible for winning in a virtual drawing. Virtual drawing winners will be selected on August 5 and be notified through email by August 12.
