This is the Orlando Events Calendar for kids and families in Central Florida. Orlando is the kid capital of the world and we never lack in things to do with kids in the greater Orlando area. It’s not all theme parks either! Check out what we’ve found to do today (and everyday) below. You can switch views, filter the results, change the dates, and anything you need to in order to find fun family events in Central Florida.

Homeschool Day at the Telephone Museum

08/25/2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$10
358466145 766956328766340 4601899364560155140 n
Your homeschool students (grades K-5) are invited to step back into time as they explore communications technology and the history of the telephone at A&H’s Telephone Museum. In our interactive guided tour, children can try their hand at working the switching station, hands-on displays and discover the story of the Winter Park Telephone Company, founded in Maitland Florida by Carl Galloway.
Afterward, join our education team as we combine art and technology! We’ll first learn about two important art concepts of lines and space, and then use this information to create 3D art sculptures featuring vintage telephone wires. Sculptures will be ready to take home at the conclusion of the program!
The cost is $10 per child for the guided tour and includes all the art supplies! Sculpture creating is for students only, but adults are welcome to help their student(s)! Chaperones are $5 each.
After the program, you’re invited to have a picnic lunch right next door at Quinn Strong Park.
Space is limited for students and especially chaperones! If chaperones are able, it would be best to bring multiple students due to the small capacity of the museum. Refunds are not available for Homeschool Days.
Sign up today! We can’t wait to ring in a lot of fun, learning and creativity with you!
If you have any questions about our Home School Day, please feel free to contact our education team at education@artandhistory.org.
