Join Orlando Ballet February 15 – 18 to experience the enchantment of The Sleeping Beauty, only at Dr. Phillips Center’s Steinmetz Hall and sponsored by Orlando Health.
Discover a magical story of a beautiful princess, enchanting fairy godmothers, an evil fairy, and the moment when the kiss of true love awakens Aurora from her century-long slumber. This timeless and cherished tale is set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s sweeping, opulent music and choreographed by Christopher Stowell who draws inspiration from Marius Petipa’s original classic from 1890. The ballet is known for its challenging choreography as exemplified by the famous and difficult Rose Adagio, when, on her 16th birthday, Princess Aurora slowly and gracefully dances among four suitors, creating one of the ballet’s most anticipated and iconic moments.
