What:
Based in the 20’s in Chicago in the Jazz age, Chicago is a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, adultery and jealousy. Aspiring chorus girl, Roxie Hart and fading vaudeville star, Velma Kelly are each facing a trial for murder. The two compete for not only the attention of shady lawyer, Billy Flynn, but for the media and world as well!
After 25 years, Chicago is still the one musical with everything that makes Broadway shimmy-shake: a universal tale of fame, fortune, and all that jazz, with one show stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you’ve ever seen. No wonder Chicago has been honored with 6 Tony Awards®, 2 Olivier Awards, a Grammy®, and thousands of standing ovations. Our Family Review:
Chicago should be considered a PG13 show for it’s content. We used it as a Parent’s Night Out and it is a great evening for it! This was our first time seeing Chicago on stage, through we’ve seen the movie. It was the perfect mixture of burlesque comedy, song and dance! We were blown away by the sexy and sophisticated dancing! If you’ve seen the movie, you know the story (and some of the songs), but to see it live on stage takes this story to another level. If you can fit it into your calendar this week, don’t miss the chance to see it while it’s in town!
