In February 2018, My Central Florida journeyed to the Downtown Food and Wine Fest. This event is held annually in February at Lake Eola, located at 512 East Washington Street in Orlando.

There is an entrance fee with pre-sale tickets, at the time of our visit, starting at $15. Day of entry prices go up and kids 12 and under are free to get in. Leave the puppies at home though because there are no animals allowed into the event.Downtown Food and Wine Fest Family Video Review

Food and wine tickets are sold separately inside the event. At the time of our visit, tickets were $2 each and most food and drink options were 1-4 tickets each. There were ATM’s on site if you forgot your cash!

The food? Amazing! We enjoyed treats from Kobe Steakhouse, Mello Mushroom, Miller’s Ale House, and more. It was nice to try a little here and a little there without a full heavy meal to weigh you down. My son loved the pizza from Mello Mushroom!

There were full bars, soda and water stations, beer stations and wine stations to enjoy too.

We ventured over to the stage where bands like the Plain White T’s, Echosmith and other awesome acts were performing. There were tables, some chairs in the shade, or you could stand or bring your own chairs, blankets, etc. to enjoy the performances.

Overall, a fun event for the foodies in your family. There wasn’t an abundance for kids to play or do (outside of the playground at Lake Eola which is a walk from the festival). For some kiddos, they loved running around, eating ice cream, pizza and more. If your kiddos need more engagement from an event, consider this for an awesome Parent’s Night Out! Next year, I’ll take the teenager, who is a big foodie, and my husband for a fun night out together!
