Two solar eclipses are coming to North America – an Annular Eclipse on October 14, 2023 and a Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024. A grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and a supplement to the NASA @ My Library Project has allowed the Space Science Institute’s STAR Net team to provide a limited number of solar viewing glasses to public libraries. To receive your solar viewing glasses (while supplies last) from OCLS, you must attend a program related to the upcoming eclipses. Eclipse programs will be hosted at branches across the library system starting in August. A full listing of eclipse-related programs can be found at ocls.info on the classes and events catalog.

OCLS continues to provide in-person and virtual workshops on developing writing skills and navigating the publishing industry from authors, editors and literary agents. Our Author Talks series continues in August, featuring conversations with bestselling authors like Robert Jones Jr., Jeff Selingo and Cassandra Clare. Visit ocls.info/meet-the-author for more information.

Registration is strongly recommended for all in-person events due to limited capacity. If you have any questions about the information shared below, call 407.835.7323. Visit us online at ocls.info to register, or to view a complete listing of both virtual and in-person library events.
