Orange County Library Events for December 2023 – As the year winds down and the holidays approach, Orange County Library System continues to offer customers of all ages the chance to learn a new skill or make something special, be it a recipe, a gift or even a memory. Orlando Public Library will host two winter favorites returning to the Library Central stage: Victorian performance troupe Phantasmagoria presents a taste of their production, “A Most Haunted Victorian Holiday”, on December 3, and on December 17, the Orlando Dickens Carolers will celebrate the season with fun and festive holiday songs. From crocheting a new favorite decoration to creating an illuminated book nook at the Melrose Center, there’s something for everyone to do this December at your library.

OCLS is also pleased to announce its participation in the Orange County Mayor’s Holiday Toy Drive. New, unwrapped toys or gifts for children ages 18 and under can be dropped off for donation at any of the library’s 15 locations now through Monday, December 11. Literary events at Orange County Library System this month kick off with an Author Talk presentation from fantasy fiction author Victoria Aveyard. The New York Times bestselling author will discuss the young adult genre and her Red Queen and Realm Breaker series. Alafaya Branch will transform into Camp Half-Blood for Percy Jackson Week from December 10-17. Make a cabin flag and other camp crafts in a week of Greek-mythology themed activities centered around Rick Riordan’s beloved fantasy series. Learn more at ocls.info/percy-jackson-week/.
