What:

“We are very excited to partner with our local library system again this year to encourage reading in our community!” says Brian Wayne, general manager at WonderWorks Orlando. “The library is a wonderful place for kids and adults alike to learn.”

WonderWorks Orlando is showing their support for reading through this National Library Week partnership with the Orange County Library System. When guests are ready to use their free admission ticket, they will need to present the ticket voucher with their new library card at the WonderWorks ticket counter upon arrival. The ticket will provide the guest with access to all the fun exhibits and activities throughout the facility. In addition to this ticket promotion, WonderWorks is also gearing up to hold a book drive in their lobby. Everyone is invited to bring in new or gently used books that will be donated to area organizations, libraries, and schools.

After dropping off their donation, fans of Dr. Seuss’s books will not want to miss the art exhibit in his honor on the third floor of WonderWorks. The exhibit features some of his imaginative fictional characters brought to life in taxidermy sculptures. Theodor Seuss Geisel used the pen name Dr. Seuss to write and illustrate countless beloved books, selling more than 600 million copies combined. This exciting exhibit aims to showcase and celebrate Seuss’s multidimensional creativity.

“Reading plays such a big role in children’s development, so we strive to inspire families to read and learn in any way they can,” added Davianys Ramos, education sales manager at WonderWorks Orlando. “Our team is excited to host a book drive this year in addition to the usual National Library Week offerings. Any donation is appreciated!”

National Library Week recognizes and celebrates the nearly 140,000 libraries in the country. It was first celebrated in 1958 and has been held every April since. The week honors libraries and those who work in them around the nation.

WonderWorks Orlando emphasizes educational exhibits, giving guests a way to explore, have fun, and learn all at the same time. Over 100 interactive attractions cover the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). The park strives to inspire the next generation of scientists, leaders, and creative types.

Some of the learning experiences that guests can explore include:

  • Science – Test the principles of pressure on the Bed of Nails and feel hurricane-force winds in the Hurricane Shack.
  • Technology – Climb into a replica of the Mercury Capsule and interact with an augmented reality sandbox.
  • Engineering – Use pulleys to lift yourself up and align gears until they spin together.
  • Arts – Stroll through the Wonder Art Gallery to look at mind-bending illusion art and play a song on the Giant Piano.
  • Mathematics –Calculate the landing of a space shuttle and complete a math problem at the Marine Biologist display.

These are just some of the many activities that can be found inside WonderWorks. The upside-down house is also home to a thrilling ropes course, laser tag, the 4D XD Motion Theater, traveling exhibits, a nightly magic comedy dinner show, and more.
