More Info: The City of Ocoee’s 16th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Parade and Celebration will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10 a.m. The parade begins at Citrus Elementary School, 87 North Clarke Road and ends at the parking lot of the West Oaks Mall on Clarke Road. The public is invited to attend a post-parade celebration that will take place in the West Oaks Mall food court at 11 a.m.

More Info: City of Oviedo in partnership with the Oviedo Citizens in Action presents the annual MLK Day Celebration with a parade in the street and celebration at Round Lake Park on Monday, January 15 from 10am-2pm. This event is to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. at the Oviedo Gym and Aquatics Center on Oviedo Blvd and will travel east on Broadway Street and ending at Round Lake Park. At the park, located at 891 East Broadway Street, there will be a Celebration until 2 p.m. with all sorts of family fun including a live DJ, Vendors, Food Trucks, Fashion Show, Skills and Drills and a Scholar Bowl!
Cost is $5 to attend the celebration and wristbands will be available on site.

More Info: Join us at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration to commemorate the life and legacy of this civil rights legend. Hosted by the City of Winter Garden, the free annual celebration includes a parade through historic downtown, live entertainment, children’s activities, and more! This signature City of Winter Garden event kicks off at 11:00 am with a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Parade in historic downtown. The parade travels along West Plant Street (from Woodland Street to Central Avenue). Bring a lawn chair or blanket and head to your favorite viewing spot to enjoy the procession of community floats and participants.
PARADE Kickoff at 11:00am. Immediately following the parade, the festivities continue with a live music concert, children’s activities, and more from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, at the Downtown Pavilion. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from onsite vendors, as well as at downtown businesses.
City of Winter Park’s Unity Heritage Festival

More Info: This annual 2-day community festival will promote family heritage and raise funds for the Educational Fulfillment Fund to benefit local economically disadvantaged youth.
The festival begins on Sunday, January 14, from 1 to 5 p.m., in Shady Park at Hannibal Square, located at the intersection of Pennsylvania and New England avenues. Special activities will include children’s games, career booths, food and retail vendors, as well as job training/readiness and financial literacy.
On Monday, January 15th, from 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy programs, blues and Jazz music, kids’ activities, food, and retail vendors.

Orlando’s Chasing the Dream MLK Day 5k

More Info: Central Florida’s only MLK Day Race! Chasing the Dream 5K is an opportunity to support equality, unite the Orlando community, and celebrate the life of a great man, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. All participants will receive a shirt, medal, custom bib, and race packet. There will also be a Zumba warmup, music, great vendors, and free raffle for all runners. Enjoy this fast and flat USATF certified course route at a beautiful park! We will also be accepting food donations for the students of New Image Youth Center! Please bring individually wrapped snacks, fruit, and microwavable meals, such as chips, crackers, fruit cups, mac & cheese cups, fruit, ramen noodles, etc. Proceeds from this event will benefit the New Image Youth Center. They are an after-school and summer program for at-risk youth, helping students in a high-needs neighborhood obtain a “New Image” through positive and motivating learning experiences, character building, and the promotion of education and fun.
