What:

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party provides an opportunity to enjoy the Magic Kingdom wrapped in the holidays! With your ticket, which runs on select nights through December 22, 2023, will cost from $169 to $199 for a single ticket, and dates are already selling out!

We’ve been attending this and the Not So Scary Halloween Event since their inception. I believe it’s been about 15 years now, or since before social media took hold! Back then, tickets ranged from $49-$69. With the rise in popularity, Disney pulls out all the stops with specialty cookies and drinks that are complementary, new menu items, a special castle show, fireworks, and we’ve seen more and more characters coming out each year!

With this ticket, you can arrive to the parks at 4 PM, which is what we always do! We start with the rides from 4-6 PM, just to get all the feels in! Then, it’s a quick bite to eat to fuel up for the night. From 6-7 PM, cast members are helping those without wristbands to find the exits, so everyone with a ticket for the event can stay and play with lessened crowds on hand!

At 7 PM, it’s game on! Rides are no longer the priority…it’s characters, cookies, and shows! Grab a map and put together a plan of what is most important to your family. For us, we wanted to stop by each of the stops for cookies, watch the parade and the fireworks, catch a few of our favorite characters, and hopefully the castle show. It was a lot to fit into our trip and the 5 hours we had to do it all!

Now, full disclosure, not from this event, but suddenly one of our family members got ill and we had to depart early. But, we got in a stage show, 3 cookie stopes, two character meetings, and the parade before departing WAY too early. Nevertheless, this event set off the all the feels for the holidays and we’re so grateful that we got to visit the happiest place on earth for a very merry christmas party!

Family Video Review:

Our Top Five Tips:

  1. Dress up for Christmas! It’s just a little more fun when you plan ahead for what you’re doing to wear!
  2. Get there at 4 PM and enjoy a full eight hours of magic. Even though the party doesn’t start until 7 PM, there’s plenty of fun (and shopping) to do before it all gets underway! From 6-7 PM, you can still ride the rides, eat, etc., but you have to have your wristband on (which they give you at the front of the park, or throughout the park). Plan to incorporate time to get to the front gates and get into the park for your 4 PM start.
  3. Don’t waste too much time with the rides after 7 PM. This isn’t what you’re there for. Consider jumping on your favorite ride at the very end of the night, but use your time to enjoy what this party is all about.
  4. The character lines are LONG. So, personally, I’m not planning to spend all my time waiting for more than one or two of my absolute must sees (especially the more rare characters that are out).
  5. You can view the fireworks from anywhere, but don’t waste your time standing around waiting for them OR the parade. We caught the parade on Main Street (near the front of the park), without much hassle, just a minute or two before it started. If you go to more crowded spaces, this will be more difficult, so have a plan to watch it from less prime locations to ensure you aren’t spending 45 minutes holding a spot!
  6. Bonus! Stay as late you can. The crowds really die down as the night goes along, so you’ll enjoy more of the park with smaller crowds, the later it gets!
