Free and Cheap Things to Do in Orlando – Orlando is the Kid Capital of the World! One of the reasons My Central Florida Family loves to live here is for all of the things to do…and many of them are free and cheap!

As you’re looking to fill the summer with family fun, we have some ideas on how you can have some family fun without breaking the bank. Check out what we’ve found for you! Click on any of the ideas below for more information.


Splash Pads: Check out our Splash Pad Guide with a list of where the kids can play in the water. Some are free and some have a minimal fee to play.

Fresh Water Springs: The family can get cool in the springs. We have natural springs all over Central Florida. Check out our list and enjoy the water! There may be a fee for a car to enter the park. The fee is usually minimal.

Parks and Playgrounds: Central Florida has so many parks and playgrounds and they are all free to enjoy. Check out our Parks and Playground Guide for a list near you.

Outdoor Movies: Outdoor movies are happening throughout Central Florida. Check out which movies and locations are coming up!

Tubing: There are opportunities to get in a tube and float away in Central Florida…not necessarily at a water park, but a local, state or national park!

Beaches: Check out Central Florida beaches like Cocoa, Daytona, Ormond or New Smyrna. Or, take a day and head over to Clearwater or St. Pete Beaches.


Cheap and Free Summer Movies: At most of the theaters around Central Florida, mid-week, your kids can enjoy free or cheap movies!

Chick-fil-A Events: Chick-fil-A offers free kid and family events throughout Central Florida. Check the calendar for upcoming events!

Roller Skating: Kids can enjoy roller skating for free this summer. Skate rentals are often required, but the skating is FREE!

Kids Bowl for Free: Your kids can bowl for free this summer. Check out lanes like Oviedo Bowling, Colonial Lanes, or any Aloma Bowling Center!

Library Time: The Central Florida libraries offer free events all summer long. Check out the library system near you!
